The Hydra II team has been recognized for Outstanding Technology Team, celebrating their exceptional work in developing a stitch-less, calibration-free camera system. This groundbreaking technology was unveiled at the Rochester Museum and Science Center during the Eclipse event, where it captivated students, families, and STEM enthusiasts. Additionally, Chief Technology Officer Allen Krisiloff has been nominated for Exceptional Technology Project Manager, acknowledging his leadership and contributions to optical innovation.
This summer, Circle Optics was energized by the contributions of its dynamic interns. Chief Operating Officer Ian Gauger expressed deep gratitude for the hard work of Declan Bhagwat, Rhea Koli, David Krauthamer, and Benjamin Margulies, whose energy, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives significantly contributed to the team’s growth and innovation. These interns brought their expertise in optomechanical engineering, strategic business analysis, software engineering, and optical engineering, driving forward key projects and enriching the company's culture.

We were thrilled to have two nominations in the TechRochester GREAT Awards.
The first was Outstanding Technology Team – that goes to our Hydra II team.
Circle Optics proudly unveiled the Hydra II camera system to the public for the first time at the Rochester Museum and Science Center during the Eclipse event. The occasion was a testament to the incredible teamwork that brought this cutting-edge technology to life. We believe that sharing immersive experiences in planetariums offers a powerful and meaningful way for communities to connect, sparking curiosity and fostering deeper connections through the wonders of the universe. This was an amazing team effort between optical, mechanical and software team members!
It was a pleasure to engage with students, families, and STEM enthusiasts who were captivated by the unique calibration and stitch-less capabilities of Circle Optics’ innovative technology. Their enthusiasm and curiosity reaffirmed our commitment to pushing the boundaries of optical innovation and inspiring the next generation of thinkers and creators.
Our Chief Technology Officer Allen Krisiloff was nominated for Exceptional Technology Project Manager
Chief Technology Officer Allen Krisiloff’s journey into optics began during the height of the space race, sparked by a childhood fascination with astronomy. His early interest in the cosmos naturally evolved into a passion for optics, leading him to pursue studies at the University of Rochester. Krisiloff’s career took a pivotal turn when he joined Gerard Mourou’s group at The Institute of Optics, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in ultrafast science and technology. His innovative spirit drove him to establish Triptar Lens Company in 1993, where he designed and manufactured optical instruments and components for various industries. Notable projects included developing a laser line projector for railroad track inspections and a confocal microscope technology for global distribution. Today, Krisiloff continues to push the boundaries of optical innovation at Circle Optics, focusing on detect-and-avoid (DAA) technology to enhance UAV safety.
Throughout his career, Krisiloff has emphasized the importance of building teams of deeply curious engineers, granting them creative freedom while guiding their technical decisions. His success in leading innovation stems from this collaborative approach, combined with a strong foundation in fundamentals. As an adjunct professor at Monroe Community College, Krisiloff advises his students to master the basics and hone their communication skills. He stresses that a clear understanding of core concepts is essential for articulating ideas effectively, and that technical writing should follow a logical narrative, helping the audience move from generalities to specifics for better comprehension.
