ROCHESTER, N.Y., – Circle Optics beat out more than 600 applicants to be selected as one of five finalists from around the world to receive a total of $3 Million in investments and participate the GENIUS NY accelerator in CNY.

GENIUS NY is a business accelerator program focused on the unmanned systems industry located at CenterState SEO’s Tech Gardens in Syracuse, NY. The five finalists will compete for the $1 Million Grand Prize in the Pitch Finals on October 21, 2021, at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown.

Ian Gauger, COO of Circle Optics, will be relocating to the Syracuse area to head up the effort and establish Circle Optics’ first satellite office in the Syracuse Tech Garden. Gauger says, “We are excited for this opportunity. Getting a foothold in the unmanned systems market has been a goal for some time. The GENIUS NY program will provide the resources we need to get this portion of our business off the ground (pun intended).” Zak Niazi, CEO of Circle Optics, says, “Customer discovery has shown that our technology provides a significant benefit for increasing the autonomy of manned & unmanned aerial systems. We are elated to grow this portion of our business and do it in upstate New York.”
