One of the key highlights of our visit was meeting with Representative Joe Morelle, who has long been a champion for Rochester-based technology companies and a strong advocate for economic development in Upstate New York. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Morelle plays a critical role in determining federal funding priorities, making his leadership essential for advancing defense innovation and fostering industry growth.

During our time in Washington, Circle Optics also had the opportunity to meet with Michael Robbins, President and CEO of Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), whose insights on emerging regulatory trends were invaluable. Robbins has been instrumental in advocating for the safe and effective integration of uncrewed systems into national airspace, working closely with policymakers to shape legislation that supports innovation while maintaining safety and operational standards.
